Hi, I’m Karie. I live in Calgary, Alberta, right now, and have been in the planning stages of our organic farm since I was twelve… active planning stages since 2007 when we bought the land in Carleton County, New Brunswick.

This blog is about us and our farm. Our challenges, successes, failures, decisions and changes of mind.
I have read that the number of small organic farms in this country will double this year. Next year it may triple. I hope so.

I believe strongly that the only way to fix the health of our planet and the health of our bodies and our children’s bodies is to eat seasonally, organically and sustainably. To raise happy animals in their natural environments with respect and dignity and without chemicals, hormones or antibiotics.

I have wanted to farm since I was young, but as with most peoples lives, ours were shaped by necessity and we ended up working in cities. This is our first forage into the life we have dreamed of for years. I hope to share it with you and hopefully inspire in some small way, a way of life that is artfully simple and infinitely valuable.
